Troy Owens, 70, of Blue River, died Feb. 26.

A retired maintenance for Island Creek Coal Company, he was born Feb.4, 1943, a son of the late Butler and Ina Webb Owens.

Survivors include his wife Ruby “Eileen” Bradford Owens; three children: Tommy Owens, Randy Owens, both of Blue River, and Tammy Robinson of Prestonsburg; his sister, Brenda Shepherd of David; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His siblings Bill H. Owens, Odis Owens, James R. Owens, Ralph Owens, Ada M. Owens, Mable Hackworth and Elsie Rahrig preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Feb. 28 at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Webb Family Cemetery in Buckeye.


Denver Mullins, 55, of Prestonsburg, died Feb. 24. Survivors: wife Darlene McCoy Mullins; children Jason C. Mullins, Jesse D. Mullins, both of Prestonsburg; other family members.
