Phyllis Justice Causey
1942-2007

Phyllis Justice Causey, 65, of Greasy Creek Road, Shelbiana, died Sunday, June 17, 2007.

She was born March 5, 1942, a daughter of the late Perry and Cynthia Robinson Justice.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Justice and Robert Justice; and one sister, Alpha Marie Rowe.

She is survived by her husband, Millis “Willis” Causey; two sons, Millis Keith Causey of Teaberry and Brian Lesley Causey of North Carolina; two daughters, Tina Ross of Shelbiana and Terena Lynn Slone of Mullins; one brother, Danny Ray Justice of Shelbiana; stepmother, Ova Justice; 11 grandchildren,; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 21, at Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church.

Burial followed in the Mary Yates Cemetery,Greasy Creek.

Arrangements were under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Eddie Randall Damron Sr
1948-2007


Eddie Randall Damron Sr., 59, of Little Creek, died Saturday, June 16, 2007.

He was born February 1, 1948, a son of the late Crit and Minda Damron.

He is survived by one son, Eddie R. Damron Jr. of Virgie; two daughters, Amanda M. Wright and Shelly J. Stewart, both of Pikeville; two brothers, Elmer Damron of Pikeville and Larry Damron of Taylor, Mich.; one sister, Mona Lickfold of Novi, Mich.; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 19, at Lucas & Son Funeral Home.

Burial followed in the Damron Cemetery, Little Creek.

Brenda Lee Harris
1962-2007

Brenda Lee Harris, 44, of Regina, died Sunday, June 17, 2007.

She was born September 19, 1962, the daughter of the late Donald and Mary Ann Sterr Huffman.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Harris; one son, David Wayne Harris of the home; one daughter, Lisa David Harris of Greasy Creek; two brothers, Donnie Huffman of Indiana and Kenny Huffman of Mount Vernon, Ohio; and two sisters, Charlene McCament of Pulawski, Ohio, and Barbara Litzinger of Florida.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 21, at Lucas & Son Funeral Home.

Burial followed in the Fords Branch Cemetery.

Edward Caudill
1926-2007


Edward Caudill, 80, of Van Lear, formerly of Garrett, KY. died Friday, June 22, 2007.

He was born December 23, 1926, the son of the late Jesse and Ora Crase Caudill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Estill Caudill.

He is survived by his wife Faye Petry Caudill and one brother, Earl Caudill of San Francisco, Calif.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 25, at Hall Funeral Home. Entombment followed in the Davidson Memorial Gardens.

Lorraine “Lori” Carroll
1972-2007


Lorraine “Lori” Carroll, 35, of Millard Hwy, KY., died Saturday, June 23, 2007.

She was born February 9, 1972, the daughter of Betty Sue Hopkins Carroll and the late Frank Carroll.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by one grandchild, Josie Slone.

She is survived by three sons, Chris Carroll of Wolfpit, Ky, Shawn Carroll of Bowling Green, Ky, Dustin Carroll of Morehead, Ky; three daughters, Tiffany Slone of Millard, Ky, Brandy Carroll of Morehead, Ky, and Brittany Carroll; one brother, Frankie Carroll, of Lexington, Ky; four sisters, Rhonda Mosley of Shelbiana, Ky., Melissa MacDonald and Shana Carroll, both of Printer, Ky., and Debbie Marrow of Lexington, Ky.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 27, at Pikeville Funeral Home.

Burial followed in the Justice Family Cemetery.

Lloyd E. Fields
1936-2007

Lloyd E. Fields, 70, of Steele, KY, died Saturday, June 23, 2007.

He was born October 30, 1936, the son of the late Emzy Fields and Roma Hunt Fields. Including his mother he is survived by one daughter, Deborah Renee Kuhn of Louisville, Ky.; one son David Brent Fields of Louisville; and one brother, Herbert Fields, of Chatsworth Georgia.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 26, at East Ridge High School. Entombment followed at Annie E. Young Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of J.W. Call Funeral Home.

Clova Gayheart Collins
1910-2007


Clova Gayheart Collins, 96, of Lexington, Ky., died Tuesday, June 19, 2007.

She was born December 17, 1910, the daughter of the late George & Catherine Martin Gayheart.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Collins; four brothers, Lafayette Gayheart of Crit, Taylor Gayheart & Edward Gayheart; six sisters, Amy Cox, Golda Osborne, Tokie Hendricks, Lester Coburn, Norma Martin & Opal Shields.

She is survived by one niece, Brenda Gayheart Grigsby and a host of nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 23, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin.

Burial followed in the Jonas Collins Family Cemetery Lackey.

Brandon Howell
1979-2007

Brandon Howell, 28, of Lexington, formerly of McDowell, died Monday, June 18, 2007.

He was born February 26, 1979 the son of Alan Howell, wife Donna and Lana Stumbo Smith and husband Steve.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents: Glenna Mae Stumbo and Bill H. Stumbo and paternal grandfather Delmar Howell.

He is survived by a sister Rachell Nichole Howell of Lexington, step sister Natasha Miller; paternal grandmother, Ruby Howell of McDowell; special aunt and uncle Ross and Roberta Lewis of McDowell.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 21, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin.

Burial followed in the Lucy Hall Cemetery at McDowell.

Linda Sue Johnson
1964-2007

Linda Sue Johnson, 43, of Bevinsville, Ky., died Tuesday, June 19, 2007.

She was born April 10, 1964 the daughter of Edith Collins Cordial and the late Clifford Cordial.

She is survived by her husband David Johnson, Stepson, Brian Johnson of Elkhorn City, Ky.; step daughter, Jennifer Johnson of Weeksbury, Ky.; two brothers, David Cordial of Wayland, Ky., and Daniel Cordial of Richmond, Ky. ; three sisters, Elizabeth Hurt and Connie Harden, both of Prestonsburg, Ky., and Bonnie Callahan of Paintsville, Ky.; and three step grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday June 22, at Free Pentecostal Church of God in Weeksbury.

Burial followed in the Cordial Cemetery Wayland.

Arrangements were under the direction of Nelson Frazier Funeral Home.

Virgie Collins Nelson
1912-2007


Virgie Collins Nelson, 95, of Prestonsburg, Ky., died Monday, June 18, 2007.

She was born May 16, 1912, the daughter of the late Wallace White & Lizzie Clevenger White Collins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Albert (Buddy) Gibson.

She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Stidham of Warsaw, Indiana; one sister: Edna Miller of Tenn.; five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday June 21, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home.

Burial followed in East Point Cemetery.

James Freddie Slone
1959-2007


James Freddie Slone, 48 of, Harold, Ky., died Saturday, June 23, 2007.

He was born April 11, 1959 the son of Nancy Jane Howell Slone and the late Charles Ray Slone.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by sister: Mary Ellen Wright. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Stratton Slone, three daughters: Jessica Ann Slone, Michelle Lee Slone and Melissa Lynn Slone all of Betsy Layne, Ky.; four brothers: Bobby D. Slone, Charles R. Slone, Willie R. Slone all of Betsy Layne and Walter M. Slone of Rive Rouge, Mich.; four sisters: Loraine Clardy of Southfield, Mich., Mary Gross of Dearborn Height, Mich., Jean Berk of Columbus, Ohio and Margaret Kashette of River Rouge, Mich.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 27, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home.

Burial followed in the Family Cemetery, Harold, Ky.

Opal Wright
1931-2007

Opal Wright, 75, of Wheelwright, KY, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007.

She was born June 25, 1931, the daughter of the late William and Mary Jude Staton.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband the late Billy Wright; three brothers, Jeff Staton, Jessie Staton and Bill Staton; four sisters: Zelona Maynard, Sally Allen, Minnie Fuller and Hattie Fuller; and one grandson, Jeffrey Isaac.

She is survived by two sons, Tommy Wright of Paintsville, Ky., and Barry Tackett of Berea, Ky.; three daughters, Sandy Thornsbury of Weeksbury, Ky., Janice Jones and Linda Johnson, both of Wheelwright, Ky.; one sister: O’dell Dials of Pataskala, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 23, at Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church in Bypro, Ky.

Burial followed in Wright Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Nelson Frazier Funeral Home.

Tilda Branham, 87, of Port St. Lucie, formerly Caney Creek, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007.

Funeral services were held at the Energyville Freewill Baptist Church.

Burial followed in the Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville, Ky.

Arrangements were under the direction of Hall and Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
