Mid-South Conference Roundup: UPIKE Bears top Cumberland in finale

PIKEVILLE — University of Pikeville built a double-digit, halftime lead and cruised to a 93-79 win in the Mid-South Conference regular-season finale played at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center on Feb. 24.

UPIKE honored its four seniors prior to the game and went on to close out the regular season at 27-3. UC dropped to 21-8.

Jayvian Delacruz fired in a game-high 22 points to lead the way while Darrion Leslie followed with 17. Chase Parley finished with 14, Michael Chambers tallied a baker’s dozen and Jordan Perry added. 12.

Chase Morgan tossed in 21 for the Patriots.

PIKEVILLE — University of Pikeville wasn’t able to get off a shot in the final 2.8 seconds as Cumberlands held on for a 60-58 win in the Mid-South Conference regular-season finale played at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center on Feb. 24.

UPIKE honored its season prior to the start of the game and finished the regular season at 14-15.

Jamie Castle and Adison Corder tossed in 15 apiece to lead the Bears.

Shayla Simpson led all scorers for the Patriots with 24 points.
