Keen in mind
Jeremiah wrote the book of Lamentations in a time of national disaster.
The city of Jerusalem was destroyed, Israel was defeated, and many people were taken to Babylon. It was a time of great sadness.
It was a time when people were asking, "Does God love me?" In the midst of sadness, the prophet Jeremiah gave us this reminder in Lamentations 3:22-23, "The Lord's loving kindness indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
When confronted with a terrible event (illness or death), many people wonder about God's loving kindness.
They may ask why God allowed this event to happen. They may even wonder if God cares about them. Jeremiah reminds us all of the love that God has faithfully given to us every day.
He is always there for us because He loves us. His love is everlasting!
