High School Baseball Roundup: PCC rallies past ACA; Pikeville now 10-0

BUCKLEYS CREEK — Pike County Central erased a seven-run, first inning deficit by scoring 11 times in the bottom of the inning to come from behind for a 21-8 victory over Ambassador Christian Academy (W.Va.) in a game played on March 29.

 

Starting pitcher Evan Coleman, who was knocked out in the first, had a pair of doubles, scored three times and knocked in three runs. Logan Dotson and Austin Smith each had a pair of hits, scored twice and batted in three runs each.

 

Logan Hillerman added two hits, scored a pair of runs and drove in two while winning pitcher D’Sean Prinkleton singled, scored and added a pair of RBI.

 

Brady Dove singled, scored and drove in a pair of runs for ACA.

Nate Brown doubled, singled, scored twice and knocked in a pair of runs to back the pitching of winner Tanner Thompson.

Austin Woolum had four hits, scored three runs and batted in two as the Pirates took the nightcap. Colton Cross doubled, singled and knocked in three runs.

 

Dylan New doubled and drove in two runs for the Hornets. Jordan Blankenship added an RBI single.

 

Avery Brown was the winning pitcher as Belfry moved to 2-6.

 

In the opener, Phelps built an early lead and held on for the one-run win.
