High School Baseball Roundup: Hawks rally past Pirates; Tigers blank Panthers

GOODY — Pike Central pushed across three runs in the top of the seventh inning and held on to nip Belfry, 13-12, in a game played at Massey Energy Field on May 2.

 

Seth Conn had two hits, including a double, scored one run and drove in three as the Hawks moved to 14-11. Austin Smith singled and knocked in three runs and Evan Coleman had two hits and drove in a pair of runs.

 

Cameron Catron was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle as the Pirates dropped to 6-16. Catron scored twice and knocked in one run. Matt Fought had two hits, scored and drove in two runs while Colton Cross doubled, singled, scored and batted in one run.

 

Ryan Eads was the winning pitcher while Jordan Scott took the loss.
