About Pikeville Medical Center
PMC is a 261-bed medical center that has grown with the needs of the area during its 80-year history.  The May Tower opened in December 2000 which more than doubled the existing space and provided even more room for future growth.

The medical staff consists of more than 150 physicians, including primary care and specialists.  More than 90% of the medical staff are board certified.

PMC recently purchased the 2.6 million dollar Siemens Oncor(tm) Impression Linear Accelerator. We were the second healthcare facility in the nation to install one.

PMC has recently added open-heart surgery, neurosurgery, endocrinology, a wound care center, a medical detoxification unit and is working towards the goal of becoming a major trauma center for the region.  This expansion of services has created opportunities for physicians in numerous specialties.
