Daniel’s enemies sought to find ways to harm him because they were jealous of his relationship with the King. God gave Daniel favor in sight of the King. Daniel’s ability and honesty threatened them.
The way he gave thanks and petitioned his God was the fault they found. They tricked the king into passing a law forbidding him to pray to his God.
Daniel continued to kneel three times a day and prayed giving thanks before his God. As punishment he was cast into a den of lions, but his God brought him out of the lion’s den. Like Daniel we have an open window toward heaven to give our petitions to God. We are told in His holy word “If any lack wisdom; you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.” (James 1:5) Do you give thanks daily, pray for wisdom or courage to do the right thing?
